What is a tracheostomy mask used for?
Tracheostomy mask allows for the delivery of oxygen therapy to patients who have had a tracheostomy. The mask is contructed of molded transparent, medical grade PVC. It comes equipped with a swivel adapter and a spandex terylene adjustable strap for added comfort. This product is not made with natural rubber latex.
How do you cover up a tracheostomy?
If you are outside, wear a loose covering over your trach, such as a scarf or other cloth, but avoid clothing with loose fibres. Covering your trach prevents dust, dirt, and bacteria from getting into it. You can also use special trach "bibs" to cover your trach and to protect your clothing from mucus when you cough.
